As it's summer, my girl and boy will be visiting their grandparents to stay for the odd night so me and the hub can have a bit of a break (hooray!). They like to take things with them that make them think of home and the new range of 'toogiez' cotton T Shirts are perfect for just that. The company, ran by two entrepreneur Mums, behind these clever tops are currently looking for pledges over on kickstarter.
My girl was sent a prototype in the form of the 'Princess Nika' T-Shirt from a range that eventually will include everything from superheroes and pirates, to ballerinas and pets. Not only did she receive a pretty T-Shirt to wear but there is a lovely little princess dolly (or toogy as they are also known as) attached to it by velcro. This makes it ideal for children to wear somewhere they may feel a bit apprehensive about visiting as they are away from home, for example their Grandparents or nursery or a visit to the dentist. With a range of toogy's on offer they can pick the one that best suits their mood that day!
What my girl liked about the top was it was really pretty with pink hearts on and she LOVED the dolly which she randomly renamed Amy (all her dolls are called that, we know no-one called Amy, god knows where it has come from) she liked being about to carry the toy about on her top. And when she went to bed, the top went in the wash (it was filthy due to just general crazy toddler messiness) but she took 'Amy' to bed with her. We stuck it to one of her other toys that had velcro on.
What I really liked about 'toogiez' was the fact that the dolly is really nicely designed, it has a vintage feel, as do all the others toogy's in the range. It arrived in a lovely bag and I actually think not only is it nice to buy for your own children but it would make a really nice gift for someone. I was a bit concerned about the velcro as in the past my children have had velcro items and they have been filled with all sorts of horrible grub but it washed really well. When the dolly is not on the T Shirt the velcro is in a heart shape so it does mix in with the pattern of the top nicely.
The only downside is I found that the dolly sometimes made the top drag a little at the front? This could be due to the fact we opted to go for a larger size as she's ridiculously tall. But my girl utterly loved it and I am sure that Nika aka Amy will be travelling around with us lots this summer holiday! Pop over to kickstarter to find out more about the toogiez range. You can get the chance to not only order one of these beautiful T-shirts but also help get this clever company off the ground!
We did receive this top to review but as per usual, if we didn't like it? We would say!
