Twerking with Team Honk

At the start of the year in my head I thought "this year I would like to use my super power of parenting blogging for good". Then I realised this made me sound a bit of a nob so I kept it quiet. But basically I thought it would be ace to use my little part of the internet to raise some cash for charity. So? I have joined Team Honk!

Team Honk is run by an amazing group of bloggers who each year aim to raise money for Comic Relief. This year? They are hoping to get together 500 bloggers from up and down the country and raise £100,000. How do they intend to do this I hear you say? Well. We will all be travelling to Wembley to take part in a six hour 'danceathon'.

Now shall I go tap or disco style??? Mmmmmm Decisions...

Every half hour we will be taught and perform a dance. Leading these sessions will be celebrity dancers such as Arlene Phillips. And OK I was a bit encouraged to do this as Adam Garcia is leading a session. I'm hoping for a full Coyote Ugly reenactment. Me, dancing on the bar, him watching in wonder, me waking up lying on the floor and realising I had passed out from doing a body roll wrong in front of 2000 people and it was all a dream.

I am aiming to raise £300 and I am super lucky as Betfair kindly kickstarted my sponsorship on my giving page by giving me the first £150! So it would be amazing if I could double that so please go over to my sponsorship page here and shove a few quid my way! In return I promise to name check all the people that sponsor me whilst twerking and doing the running man on a vlog over on my YouTube channel.

To get us all in the mood I thought I would pop a little clip of one of my favourite dances of all time Beyonce Single Ladies and I am hoping we get to do a bit of this at Wembley! You do know I think I am a little bit like a popstar don't you? All together now "if you like it then you should have put a ring on it...".

  2. Good luck with it! I'm so jealous of everyone taking part as dancing is my 'thing'. Unfortunately my MIL is very inconsiderately turning 70 that week :(
