Top Ten Bedtime Books For Toddlers

One of the greatest things about being a parent is watching your children develop. And since my daughter has started school it has been a pleasure to see her start to learn to read and write. So when we were approached by ASPACE and The Great British Bookshop to trial ten of the top bedtime reads for toddlers I knew my girl would have the time of her life (and by the looks of it teddy did too!).

Over a couple of weeks myself and my other half sat down and read through some total classics including 'The Gruffalo', which has always been a firm favourite here, and 'The Tiger Who Came To Tea'. We also read some new books including 'No Matter What' (which made me weep and weep). Each book brought a different thing to the table whether it be laughing, sobbing (mainly me) or being thrown into an adventurous world.

At the end of the fortnight I quizzed my girl on what she thought was the best book was out of the ten and she chose two. She really loved 'We're Going On A Bear Hunt' by Michael Rosen because she really liked the idea of the family being brave and like me, she adored 'No Matter What'. This lovely story by Debi Gliori tells the tale of a baby fox and his Mum that loves him "no matter what". OH THE MANY WEEPS! Personally I also really loved 'The Jolly Postman' by Janet and Alan Alhburg as the attention to detail is amazing.

To look at the books as chosen by ASPACE and featured on The Great British Book Shop take a look at their site to see the ten books for bedtime! There is also a 10% discount off in the store if you use the code BEDTIME.

We were sent these books to review and test out for ourselves!
