They have moved on from CBeebies (hooray!) and now are into programmes that sometimes even capture my interest. One of their favourite channels is Nickelodeon. And praise the lord even I find myself watching and laughing along. Below are their five recommendations ranging from Ninja Turtles to a highly annoying sponge who lives in a pineapple under the sea.
Best Retro Show: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
I LOVED the turtles when I was younger and it seems that my boy is following in my footsteps. We have a house filled with toys of them and when it's live on NOW TV at 7:30am each day? It means I get five minutes to do something glam. Like cleaning out the guinea pig. Sigh. Don't be jealous!
TURTLE (and toddler) POWER!
This programme proper makes me laugh! It's a box set we regularly watch in our house. Sanjay is a little boy who happens to have a talking snake for a bestie called Craig. They get up to lots of daft adventures around the neighbourhood and it makes my pair howl.
Best Sing Along Moment: SpongeBob SquarePants
"Who lives in a pineapple under the sea?" you know the rest. I'll be honest this cartoon DRIVES ME MAD! But it is one that Grandad loves to watch with my little boy whilst the girl is at school. With a six hour box set marathon on NOW TV this would be perfect for if he ever gets another bug from nursery.
SPONGEBOB SQUAREPANTS! (and repeat)
Best Laughs For My Boy: Fairly Odd Parents
Not a show about me and my husband but the Fairly Odd Parents focuses on a little boy called Timmy who is granted two fairy godparents. Featuring a host of 'baddies' my son loves seeing the ways in which Timmy rectifies the mistakes his daft fairy godparents make.
Best Magic For My Girl: Shimmer And Shine
Shimmer and Shine is a show where a little girl has two genies who grant her three wishes every day. IMAGINE IF THAT HAPPENED IN REAL LIFE? I for one would be summoning up Gary Barlow on a regular basis! With another catchy theme tune it's the kind of adventure my girl wishes she could have.
If you are interested in watching any of the above with your little ones.
