Stop Last Minute Sewing Panic With Stikins

Well we all have to face it. The summer is at an end and our little ones are going back to school. My girl is going into year one (sob) and my boy? Is in pre-school (double sob). So I am now in the midst of that last minute panic where I am trying to get everything organised for the start of term. Buying a million pairs of tiny pants, new shoes and hoping that I've got the right PE kit. The last thing I want to do is sew labels onto everything which is why I was glad to be asked to review Lablelplanet's Stikins name labels. They looked like the perfect alternative to me shouting "WHY CAN'T I DO IT" at a needle and thread.

Excited to go to pre-school?

Stikins are a multi-purpose label that sticks to everything from shoes to jumpers to lunch boxes. In the past I've tried sewing in labels, I've tried iron on labels and of course I have tried the last minute 'Oh god I've forgotten to label that skirt so now I need to write it on and it looks a mess'. So I couldn't wait to see if these actually work. It was dead easy to order them online and when they arrived I was pleased to see that the font was large and bold enough for my son to be able to recognise his first name. They also came in a pack of 120 so I can keep them for the next few school years.

Even I could follow these instructions!

Discreetly hidden on the wash-care label

The Stikins instructions were really simple to read. Especially if you are in that last minute panic the night before school starts and desperately trying to get yourself organised. You simply peel off the label and securely attach them onto the wash-care label of whatever you need named. I've mainly focused on coats and hoodies which seem to do a vanishing act whilst he's at pre-school. It takes 24 hours for the adhesive to stick and then you can wash the clothes as normal. They are fine to go in the tumble dryer and if you are naming plates they also can go in the microwave.

There's a whole lot of dinosaur going on this term

Stop growing up now please!

I was massively impressed with the Stikins. My son's hoody washed well with the name label on and I couldn't believe that I have wasted the past few years in a flap when there is something on the market that is SO easy to use. I know when my Mum pops round to look after the kids during the week she won't be able to comprehend how they stay on. I thought that they were very reasonably priced and I loved that they were quite discreet so the name isn't out on show for everybody to read. I will definitely be recommending to all the other school gate Mums when our little ones go to big school next year. Visit the Labelplanet online store to find out more about the durable and easy to use Stikins name labels.

  1. It's school time again! Some kids feel nervous or a little scared on the first day of school because of all the new things: new teachers, new friends, and maybe even a new school. Luckily, these "new" worries only stick around for a little while :-)
