A Week Of Meal Planning!

As a lot of you will remember we moved house last year. I ADORED our last house, so much so I wept buckets when we left. But we had just outgrown it. Our new house is very similar as I love the terraced style but it does have offer more room. Especially downstairs which is an open plan living room/kitchen/dining area. My job for 2018 is to decorate it. So when AO asked us to review their Hisense American Fridge Freezer it was perfect timing. However they asked us to do it with a bit of a twist. Give it a trial run by setting us a challenge for the New Year. Writing down and filming how we got on.

They asked me to plan our family evening meals for the week with a budget of £50. I wrote a list, grabbed the kids and hit the local supermarket. I am not the greatest of cooks. Our main meals are often quite simple but they are things my children and I love, so I thought I would stick to the classics. The benefit of having the Hisense American Fridge Freezer was that I didn't really have to worry about space. Despite being quiet narrow it can hold 23 bags of shopping so it had no problems holding all our food for the challenge.

My favourite thing about the fridge freezer is that it is multi doored and the freezer section has two sets of drawers. The geek in me (who LOVES organising) cannot wait to label all the drawers and make it neat and tidy. It's also frost free which is perfect and means less mess. I'm not going to lie, I got a bit giddy putting frozen veg and yorkshire puddings in my new 'Sunday Lunch' drawer. Stephen thinks I have lost the plot. As well as Sunday Lunch other meals I chose for the week were Stephen's famous spag bol and fajitas. Accompanied with salad which fitted nicely into one of the two fridge drawers.

Other meals I picked were quick and simple ones that we could eat on an evening after busy days out and about. Pizza and garlic bread for our Friday night treat and the easy parenting classic pesto and pasta. If you want to see more about how we got on for the week watch the vlog below. Whilst we only had to plan evening meals the fridge freezer was hardly full at all and could easily hold a weeks shop in it for a family of four. The stainless steel effect also matches the rest of our kitchen appliances so it fitted perfectly into our home.

I really enjoyed the challenge. I actually felt..gasp...wait for it..organised. Like a proper Mum who plans her meals and doesn't think "oh god what's for dinner?" around 4pm every day. It's definitely something I will be keeping up for the rest of the year. I may even get one of those food planning lists to stick on the front of the new fridge. Stephen won't know what's hit him! Thanks so much to AO for kickstarting our kitchen decorating in the right way. If you would like to know more about the Hisense American Fridge Freezer please check out their site here.
