Come Cook With Me...Easy Vegetarian Spaghetti Bolognese

It is well known in my family that I am not an amazing cook. It's just something I do not have a talent for. However there are some meals that I cook that my children LOVE. So when Quorn and Netmums got in touch asking us to try out Quorn Mince, I knew straight off that I wanted to cook my famous spaghetti bolognese. Which is something that is quick and easy and I actually can make from scratch. To ensure that I was making it totally meat free I compared notes with the 'Quick Quorn Spaghetti Bolognese' recipe online and on one Tuesday afternoon after school I set to work.

Now as I am not chef you can find the full and easy to follow Quick Quorn Spaghetti Bolognase recipe here. I had never used Quorn before so didn't really know too much about it apart from my vegetarian friends use it quite a lot at home for their children. I was really intrigued to see if my children would actually eat it (always at the back of the mind of any parent!). As soon as we got back from the school I set to work on making it. As a Mum I only have a limited amount of time to make dinner as the children often have clubs or homework. This particular evening I got my seven year old to do her homework whilst her little brother was playing with his LEGO set. I had around 20 minutes before they started to need my attention so I got cooking ASAP!

What I loved about this recipe is that it is very much a 'shove everything in and let it cook' kind of job. Right up my street. The Quorn Mince is great as you can keep it in the freezer and cook it straight from the packet. There's no having to eat it by the sell by date or defrosting it so it's perfect for busy family life when you don't always manage to eat everything you buy. This version of spaghetti bolognese also has 90% less saturated fat than a meat version which is fantastic. If you want to see exactly how I cooked it please check out the Come Cook With Me vlog below.

My children absolutely LOVED the 'Quick Quorn Spaghetti Bolognese'. There is always that moment when I cross my fingers and hope that they will enjoy it. They not only enjoyed it they asked for seconds. LIVING THE DREAM! When Stephen got in back from work he also tucked in and asked if we can have it again next week. Quorn is a great alternative to meat, not only does it taste great but it also is nutritious and easy to cook which is ideal for a busy family.
