9 Reasons We Loved Our Haven Holiday

If you follow me on social media you will have noticed that we popped down to Devon Cliffs for a mini break recently. One of Haven's largest family caravan parks, Devon Cliffs holds a special place in my heart as it was the first holiday we had as a family of three. We visited a couple of times when my daughter was much younger so were really excited to return with both children. We spent a couple of nights in a caravan and as we are working with Haven in 2018 we are lucky enough to be able to return in the summer holidays. So here are the nine reasons we enjoyed our trip so much and can't wait to go back...

Haven Holidays, Devon Cliffs

1. Accommodation
We stayed in a prestige caravan. Not only did it have all the things you look for in a caravan; cleanliness, space, nearby parking. It also had added extras like loads of plug sockets for various devices, a really lovely fun interior and two toilets which is essential for a family of four. My children loved the bright design. And I loved the tele in the master bedroom!

2. Location
Devon Cliffs has a really great location. The beach there is BEAUTIFUL and if you get up early enough you may well be able to have it all to yourself. The site is also next to 'World of Country Life' which we can't wait to visit when we return. I remember my little girl petting lambs there and me having a little weep. I'm sure this time I will be spending a lot of time trying to get my son not to ride them like a horse.

3. Food
Since we last visited the site we were really impressed with the food now on offer. The South Beach Café restaurant wasn't open last time and the menu was really great for families. We loved the atmosphere and the staff were lovely. If you don't fancy a sit down meal with your little ones. You can tuck into a Burger King or a Papa Johns pizza (delivered straight to your table in Capones or direct to your caravan). Or like me your family can go swimming whilst you enjoy the odd Starbucks or two.

4. Amenities
As well as the all important Starbucks, there is a great little shop on site that is reasonably priced and means that you can get anything for your caravan. We picked up the basics like bread, flora, orange juice but noticed they had a good variety of meals on offer too.

5. Entertainment
Despite us only being there a couple of days my children enjoy watching a few shows by the Seaside Squad. They got to meet the characters afterwards which made my heart melt. We also watched a really fun interactive science show, played family bingo (based on 90s music so my utter dream) and of course joined in with the tots disco. All of this entertainment is included with your Fun Pass and my children had the most amount of fun possible!

6. Free Activities
There are loads of free activities on site. I've already chatted about the entertainment you can watch, but there are parks you can play in, a brilliant swimming pool on site, a soft play and if you download the Haven App you can keep your eyes peeled for free events like mini archery.

7. Paid Activities
If you are feeling a bit more adventurous there are loads of paid activities available on the site. My seven year old loved trying a segway and both children had stacks of fun in the swimming pool on the aqua gliders. There are activities for all ages and my little girl is definitely going to have a go at the Aerial Adventure on her return.

8. Perfect In Any Weather
I'm going to be totally honest it was FREEZING when we went to Haven. But my kids didn't notice at all. We still had stacks of fun. They were entertained all day and it was nothing that some gloves and a woolly hat couldn't fix. It was brilliant to know we could pop over to the entertainment complex and there would be something going on to entertain them most times during the day.

9. The Machines
No quintessential British caravan holiday would be complete without spending time on the machines. This is my husband's happy place. And he wanted me to let you all know he put 2p in and won 1000 TICKETS. I think it is possibly the best thing that has ever happened to him. Just make sure if you are going to attend Devon Cliffs you bring plenty of change!

We visited the same park I think a week after you and the weather was lovely! There was 7 of us and the caravan we had was ideal, it those 2p machines were deadly! Did you go on the one where you go fishing?

  3. Wow lucky hubby getting all those tickets! My other half gets a little obsessed with the 'claw' machines. He's actually really good with them and we have way too many minion toys as a result of our last Haven holiday to the Lakeland park in the lake District. Lovely blog as always xx
