10 Reasons To Visit The Mark Warner Perdepera Beach Resort In Sardinia

For those of you who follow me over on instagram you will see that we kick started the summer holidays by taking an amazing trip to the Mark Warner Perdepera Beach Resort in Sardinia. For the past few years we have only really gone on Disney trips so I was really excited to see how a beach resort holiday would pan out. We are used to getting up and being out and about all day so I knew this would be a real change and I can honestly say it was the end of term rest we all needed. Here are the ten things we loved about the resort if you are thinking about visiting...

1. Setting
The Perdepera Beach Resort is one of the most beautiful settings we have ever stayed in. With gorgeous sandy beaches on one side and luscious hills on the other. It is a very quiet resort so if you are looking for local shops and bars then this is not the place for you but if you are looking for peace and tranquillity it is perfect.

2. Accommodation
We stayed in a traditional Mediterranean style villa with two floors. Our accommodation came complete with a kitchen and a shady terrace surrounded by flowers. Each morning before the kids awoke I would sit and read my book and I can honestly say that smell needs to be turned into a candle! The bathroom was large enough for a family of four and there was plenty of storage for our summer holiday wardrobe.

3. Ease
One thing which was really helpful was not only was there a daily maid service, which is ideal when you have small children but also you were provided with beach towels. These could be exchanged during the week and it meant you didn't have to pack any or bring any damp ones home on the plane.

4. Food
There was a great selection of food on site. We were full board which meant we got to eat three meals in the restaurant. I believe other Mark Warner sites have a variety of places to eat but this was perfect for our family. Every day there was something that the kids enjoyed; pizza, pasta and fries! As well as some beautiful seafood dishes that I adored.

5. Childcare
One of the big pulls of a Mark Warner holiday is the fantastic childcare facilities. It was something I had not really used on holiday before and I was a bit wary. My son spent the morning in the Mini Club whilst my daughter was in the Junior Club morning and afternoon. If they felt that they didn't want to attend it was quite easy for them to just hang out with us instead. They both did activities that they wouldn't get the chance to do back in Birmingham. Including sailing, paddle boarding, treasure hunts in the sea and windsurfing.

6. Watersports
The children weren't the only ones who tried out the watersports at the site. Stephen loved paddle boarding each day and even I got on one! It was brilliant to walk to the beach, hire a paddle board and go out into the sea. The staff were so friendly even when I panicked a bit and it's something I will NEVER forget. I'm not sure if you can count aqua aerobics as a water sport but I did it every day and really had such a laugh dancing in the sun to the Spice Girls.

7. Land Activities
My main aim was to have fun with the kids but also unwind after a pretty hectic few months so the only land activity I wanted to do was sit around a pool and read which is what I did. We never struggled to get sun beds and with a choice of both a family pool and adults only pool there was always somewhere to relax. Stephen on the other hand is rubbish at relaxing so a couple of times he hired a bike and rode to the local village.

8. Evening Entertainment
On the evening it is possible for the children to go and watch a film with their kids club. It's always age appropriate and my two loved hanging out with their mates. During this time Stephen and I would go for a stroll on the beach or grab a couple of cocktails from the bar. We then would pick the children up in time to attend the mini disco but it is possible to leave them in the club till a little later. But for me I like to take any opportunity to dance with them I can.

9. Staff
The staff at the resort were lovely. Everyone was friendly and there is a real family feel to the place. My children adored their kids club leaders with my little girl sobbing to say goodbye to her beloved Chloe. Whilst we stayed for one week I can totally see why people would stay for two as it has such a comfortable and friendly vibe to it.

10. Making Memories
As I mentioned this was a really different holiday for us. We are used to whizzing around Walt Disney World so we did find it hard to relax at first. But all four of us left with memories that will last a lifetime. From paddle boarding with Stephen, to dancing in a show with her mates for my little girl or singing pirate songs on a boat in the middle of the sea for my little boy. It's a holiday we will never forget.
