My front door. It's not a particularly pretty front door. It's brown. I added a shabby chic wooden heart to it (I bloody love a shabby chic heart). But this is a special door. This is the door I walked through when I brought my first house with a boy (well man you know what I mean). The door I left as a Wetton dressed in white and returned a happy Conway.
It's the door I brought my first baby through. And my second. The door I have pushed endless buggys out of, and have stood at in my pyjamas waving goodbye with my children to their Dad as he goes off to work.
This doorway is very special. I haven't the (shabby chic) heart to leave it.
It's funny how much things mean to us when we spend a moment thinking about it. I do love shabby chic too, although I can't help feeling my attempts at it just turn out to be shabby but never mind! Thank you for linking up with #TheThemeGame
ReplyDeleteI had a bit of a cry writing it. I'm a weirdo clearly. I will never be able to leave the house ever!!! Love the idea of #TheThemeGame xxx
