Lavender Blue Dilly Dilly...

Last Sunday I wrote on twitter asking how I could persuade my husband to visit lavender fields that I had found on-line at Cotswold Lavender. I had suggestions ranging from promise to take him to a local pub, bring actual booze with me and some rude things that I won't mention on here as my Mother reads it (Hello Mum!). But in the end he deemed me giving him an extra lie in more than enough to drive us all up there. And when we got there? All I can say is? WOW. It is beautiful. Only open to visitors through June, July and August it is well worth a visit.

It not only has beautiful lavender fields but it also had the most amazing wild flowers field that I found even more stunning. Like something from a movie, it reminded me of the poppy fields in the Wizard of Oz. I took some beautiful photos. Lots of them were of the children running, as there were so many bumble bees! The kids were terrified!

Afterwards I used one of my Advantage Gold Natwest customer free National Trust passes to visit a really lovely place called Snowshill Manor. I would say it is not the most interesting place for tiny children but there are some beautiful places to take photos and bigger kids would love looking at all the strange knick knacks in the main house. And of course as always, the main attraction of a National Trust is the tearoom!

When I put these photos on facebook a few people commented that my girl looks like Alice in Wonderland and I have to agree, or a lovely little flower fairy. And despite ice cream and cake galore that dress remained white until bedtime! Which I found a major achievement. Both places are magical and well worth a visit. Make sure you take your camera and get lost in the magic of times gone by and beautiful, beautiful blooms. Just watch out for those bloody bees.
