A Sandpit Made For Two!

We live in Birmingham. Birmingham is literally the furthest place away from a beach. Slap bang in the middle and the nearest sand to us is nearly two hours away. Which is a shame as my two LOVE sand. They love making sand castles and our tiny sand pit has always been a huge hit. Except? It is the size of a large bucket. So when we were offered the chance to review the Wickey Wooden Sand Flip I knew it was something I couldn't turn down!

Made out of thick wooden boards the sand pit cleverly is not only a place where my two can muck about and make castles, but the lid also fold into two lovely wooden benches. It arrived flat pack and after bit of a struggle with the UK British weather my husband FINALLY got it made. I would however suggest you have a proper drill as it would make the process a lot quicker (or get a better husband).

We filled up the pit with three bags of sand that we got from the local toy shop. As an added extra we were sent a special safe sand soil sheet which will help protect the sand from worms and gives a good protection from the ground. My two easily fitted into the pit and there was definitely room for another little one (or a suspicious dog).

Below you can see how easy it is to turn into benches. Also along with the sand we managed to shove in all their random beach toys that we have collected over the years. The Wickey Wooden Sand Flip looks great in the garden and all we need now? Is some sunny weather to make the most of it! For further information pop over and visit Wickey

  1. I love the way it folds up to make the chairs. A great touch!

  2. This looks fantastic! I like how it folds up to make the benches!
I hope they have a lot of fun in it x
