A Perfect End To Summer With Optiwell & Luxury Family Hotels Competition
This summer was hectic. I was off and in charge of my two little ones for seven weeks. SEVEN WEEKS! And whilst we had one of the best holiday's ever I was pretty exhausted by the end of it. I needed a break to refresh myself before the start of the busy and grey winter term. So when Optiwell invited me and the kiddos for a mini-break at the beautiful The Elms Hotel & Spa in Abberley? I knew it would be the ideal way to spend a few days relaxing before the mania of September.
Optiwell is a yoghurt drink with no added sugar or fat. With just 67 calories per glass it means that Mums can have a quick and healthy snack to tide them over if they are feeling hungry during the day. It's something to make life with small humans a bit easier. With this in mind the overnight stay was aimed at making the bloggers who attended lives a bit easier for 24 hours. When we arrived there were a host of fun toys out ready for the children to play with whilst we all sat down for an afternoon tea in the gorgeous hotel gardens. It gave us the chance to have a good catch up and soak up the final few rays of summer.
Next we had spa treatments booked in. I decided that it would be really fun for me and my two to have pedicures together. I knew that there was going to be a special 'kids only' slumber party later on in the evening so I thought that this would make the pair of them feel super snazzy for it. For dinner the nursery staff on site at The Elms helped the children all make pizzas and which they ate outside with their new friends in the glorious sunshine. We then popped back to the room to get ready for the evening's entertainments. The children went off to a disco and movie night in their pyjamas whilst us Mums? Had the most beautiful meal and a good old fashioned gossip over Prosecco and Optiwell cheesecake.
It was a good job that the day was so relaxing as of course when it came to the night time? I was shoe horned into a bed with my pair and slept with elbows in my back and arms on my face. But we woke up the next morning and I bathed them in the best bath they had ever seen. We even sent a photo to their Dad asking him to get on with it and do our bathroom up ASAP. There wasn't a patch of dirty grout to be seen.
Unfortunately as we are in the UK it obviously poured it down on the second day. But it didn't dampen our spirits and the lovely Optiwell team and Elms staff took the outside teddy bear hunt inside. And you know what us Mums did? Nothing. We. Did. Nothing. We just sat, belly laughed and took probably a few too many instagrams of us doing nothing. It was glorious. To know that the kids were happy running around and we could have a hot cup of tea in peace. They they went off to do crafts which was followed by a lovely indoor picnic. And there is nothing more enjoyable than a picnic. You didn't have to make yourself.
It was such a lovely way to end the summer. It was an amazing chance to get reacquainted with blogging friends like Sarah from Taming Twins, Katie from Mummy Daddy Me and Aby from You Baby Me Mummy. As well as getting to know Alice from More Than Toast and Kate from Pouting In Heels that bit better. When we arrived and I could see that not only were the children getting along and that we really could relax for a bit there was definitely a 'Thank Goodness' moment. It was like a mini reward for us all finishing a very long summer. Thanks so much to the amazing team at Optiwell for treating us so well and I know when I start back at work this week? I will be popping a strawberry and raspberry flavour in my bag for breaktime.
Optiwell are offering you the chance to win your very own "Thank Goodness" moment by winning a Luxury Family Hotels voucher for £350. If you would like to enter please complete the Rafflecopter below and good luck!
