Amazu is a wonderful play area where the children get to climb and run around above the monkeys who are chilling out below. My two loved this, as did my husband who ran so energetically he went flying and I (and I think the monkeys did to) had a good laugh at his expense. One of those classic 'over energetic Dad' moves.
Yoo Hoo and Friends
As we are based in the centre of Birmingham we are not really country folk. So there is nothing my two love more than visiting a farm. The Yoo Hoo farm is great as not only does it have cute pets to look at like guinea pigs and rabbits, but the goats roam around much to my daughters delight. She is now plotting on how to get one in our back garden.
Sea Lion Bay
As theme parks can be quite full on it's always good to take advantage of any rest spots and Sea Lion Bay is an ideal place to sit and have a rest. It's a lovely little sea lion show and my two squealed with glee whilst they ate their snacks and I rested my aching feet.
Trail of Kings
Based next to Sea Lion Bay, the Trail of Kings is where you get to see the big zoo animals that small children love so much. I'll be honest? The tiger was sleeping so close to the window of it's enclosure that my daughter had a small breakdown as she thought he was coming to get her.
Tree Top Hoppers
Tree Top Hoppers is a great little ride and reminds me of the local fairs that do the rounds during summer holidays. Both times we have visited the queues have been super small and it's a great ride to hop on whilst the bigger rides are busy.
Sea Storm
Despite not being a fan of spinning rides I somehow found myself being dragged on Sea Storm. I'm not sure I would be going on again but my two? LOVED being turned around and screaming at the top of their lungs. Not one for those who may get sea sick!
Dragons Playhouse
This is an area of Chessington World of Adventures that we had not stumbled upon before and it had a cracking little softplay. In busier times, sessions are kept to ten minute maximum but on a rainy quiet Sunday morning the children had a great play in there for around half an hour. There is also plenty of spots of parents to sit and have a cup of tea whilst they play.
Jungle Bus
Another great kids ride with relatively small queues. It's also quite close to a few fun photo opportunities like a dragon who doesn't want you to steal his treasure and a lovely waterfall.
Monkey Swinger
This is definitely one of those rides I end up having to close my eyes whilst my daughter goes on it. She absolutely loves riding it with her Dad. This version though has a twist as water is squirted on you as you go around. Much to her joy (what is it with kids and getting wet?).
The Gruffalo Ride
A brand new attraction based where the old Bubble Works ride was, The Gruffalo is new for 2017 at Chessington World of Adventures. Sadly we went the week before the ride opened but all reviews I have seen have given it glowing reports and it just means that we will have to go back and visit again in the summer!
Thanks to Merlin for allowing us to review another attraction with our Merlin Premium Pass. If you would like to find out more about Merlin passes why not go and visit their site.
If you would like to see the fun we had whilst we were there take a look at the vlog below!
