My Superstar Seven Year Old!

One of the best things about my blog is that sometimes I get to do the most amazing things with my children. Things that when they look back they will be able to go "wow look what we did with Mum!". So I was really excited when Bassetts Vitamins got in touch and asked if my seven year old would be able to draw a picture that would be featured as part of their national ad campaign. The campaign is based around how parents love Bassetts Vitamins because their kids do. And as we have worked with the brand a few times on the blog I can confirm its something we all love as a family. That, combined with the fact that my daughter adores drawing makes it a match made in heaven.

Bassetts Vitamins

The brief was she had to think of a creative way to describe what she thought Bassetts Vitamins tasted of. Then she had to design a bright and colourful picture she thought would look ideal in magazines or shops up and down the country. She took this job VERY seriously indeed. Luckily for me this week she wants to be an artist. It wasn't one of the days where she wants to be a vet or a pop star so she saw this as the chance to get a bit of experience for her future career.

We sat down and discussed what she thought they tasted like. Despite them being vitamins my children really love the taste. She always thinks the age 7-10 raspberry flavour tastes like ice lollies so she said that it reminded her of the sun. After she drew a big sun she decided that she wanted to fill it with all sorts of fruit and you know how seven year old brains work...she ordained they tasted like "fruity sunshine!". So wrote that in her biggest fanciest handwriting (I am particularly loving the f which is nicer than I write it).

Bassetts Vitamins

Bassetts Vitamins have always been a quick and easy way to ensure that my two get all the vitamins they need each day*. I am also a huge fan of the fact that they are made with natural fruit juices and no sugar. As I mentioned my girl has the age 7-11 multivitamins raspberry flavour whilst my little boy has the age 3-6 peach and apricot flavour which helps to keep energy levels up. We've had the busiest summer going on lots of day trips and playdates so it's great for them both to have something in the morning to make them naturally feel that little bit brighter**.

It's been wonderful to watch my little girl think of an idea, create it and for it now to be seen in shops and in magazines. I know it's something that she will want to take into school to show her new teacher in Year 3 and something that I will want to pop in a frame and show future first loves. "LOOK SHE SAID THEY WERE LIKE FRUITY SUNSHINE!!!" whilst she looks on embarrassed at her Mum showing off. To find out more about Bassetts Vitamins please check out their site here.
