A Little Christmas Home Tour

One of my favourite seasons of the year is winter. I'm not a huge fan of summer and running around after the kids sweating in a swimming costume. I'm more suited to snuggling under a huge couch blanket and watching something on Netflix with the kids. It seems each year I get more and more excited about Christmas and if I had my way I would start decorating the second we put the pumpkins away. Online homeware store Cox & Cox appreciated my love of getting ready for the festive season (unlike my husband) and asked me to work with them on an AD. Using some of their beautiful bits and pieces to decorate my home. So I lit a candle, shoved on Mariah Carey and got to work.

One of my favourite places in the house is our front room. It used to be my office but now it is more of a room for whoever wants a bit of peace and quiet to hang out in. I tend to change the fireplace in there every season. The mirror and plants always stay the same but I like to change the other ornaments. When I saw the set of three tea light houses I knew they would look perfect on the tile flooring and I also chose some metallic brush trees from the Cox & Cox site. I have become obsessed with watching Americans who decorate their houses on YouTube and they love cotton so I knew I HAD to have a cotton wreath. I love the way it looks hanging off the mirror almost like it's a big giant cotton sun for the tiny houses (my imagination often runs away with me).

I wanted a new wreath for our front door this year but until it gets a bit closer to Christmas I chose the one above to hang off our guest bathroom (and by guest I mean just the bathroom but I wanted to sound like I live in a huge house). It looks really natural and will last a lot longer than a real wreath which is ideal. I would like to say I am the kind of Mum that lets her kids decorate her tree. But I'm not. They each have an individual tree that they get to decorate with sentimental baubles and they keep them in their bedroom. Our main tree is covered in white, copper and silver ornaments. I chose two different styles including the handpainted Ikat baubles and the speckled ombre ones. I love the way they look together and the way the fairy lights reflect off them makes me heart happy.

I already mentioned my love of cotton so also in the fireplace I added cotton sprays and a sage and berry garland to an old vase we had. I added another tree in the form of the Cox & Cox miniature white one and then to be honest I have NO clue how it happened but I chose a furry felt sheep. Which looks like it's trying to take over my miniature tea light village! I've not quite finished the fire place in the living room but if you look below I have began by adding some more cotton sprays and another miniature white tree. Also the cosiest lit copper twigs. Which I think may become a year round installation. I love them!

I adore the way the front room and living room have turned out. It's beautiful when it's night time and the room is glowing with fairy lights and lit twigs. It makes me so happy. Especially when you throw on a few candles and a made for TV film about a Christmas romance. Thanks so much to Cox & Cox for working together with me on this paid advertorial. If you are interested in any of the products show please make sure you pop over to their site here. And as an extra special treat they are offering you 20% off if you use the code BRUMMUMMY20. So go forth, shop and have a very Merry Christmas!
