Wonderful Winter Warmers!

The kids are back at school, the final selection box has been eaten and it's time to reign in the never ending eating that took part during the festive season. But the thing is. I really like food. Like LOVE it so I always find this time of year a bit of a struggle. That 'getting back to normal and not eating mince pies three times a day' thing. So when WW (formally known as Weight Watchers) got in touch with me to work on an AD together about their chilled meals. I was like "THIS IS JUST WHAT WE NEED!". Stephen and I are huge fans of the meals, and whilst we have no intention of losing stacks of weight this year. The odd WW meal here and there will help us to eat a bit healthier.

We were asked to try out three meals from their range. So I decided on some of our favourite winter warmers we like to tuck into if we are eating out. Chilli Con Carne and Potato Wedges, Creamy Mac and Cheese and Aromatic Chicken Tikka and Basmati Rice. Each dish is under 400 kcal, is low in fat,  low in sugar, is a source of protein and contains no artificial flavourings. Which is perfect if you're trying to cut down in 2019. They also are from the chilled section which means for me it's something to keep in the fridge and bung it in the microwave on 'easy dinner' night. You know those evenings where you don't want to cook and just want to eat in front of Luther.

The first two meals we tried out were for a romantic date night. Also known as eating in silence in front of the tele wondering how early is 'too early' to go to bed. Stephen opted for Chilli Con Carne and I went for Aromatic Chicken Tikka and Basmati Rice. Birmingham is well know for it's curries so I was a bit concerned that it wouldn't live up to our local delights. But it was great. It was super quick and easy to make and was tasty. Stephen also loved his Chilli Con Carne that definitely had a bit of a kick to it and looked like the cosiest food ever to eat. So the first two meals tried were a success.

I work from home and most evenings I am shipping my kids around to play dates, dance classes or swimming. So sometimes I want something that is a bit more filling than a ham sandwich so I also tried out the Creamy Mac and Cheese in front of my computer. Don't feel too sorry for me. I generally shove a bit of YouTube on whilst I am eating. I am currently OBSESSED with interiors as I have grand plans to do my whole house up. Which quite possibly will never happen but I can dream. I loved the Creamy Mac and Cheese and will definitely be stocking up so I can have a treat lunch once a week. It's even better knowing that the treat is actually healthy.

It was great working with WW and trying out some of their chilled meals. If you have read my blog for a while you know I am not a natural cook so these are an ideal option for Stephen and I. Especially as they are singe serve portions so we each have something different. The good news is that until 30th January ASDA has 50p off each meal. Making them £2.00 instead of £2.50. If you would like to know anymore about the range please check out the WW site here.

  1. These look so yummy!, I always grab ready meals when I'm shopping because it's just easier sometimes so I'll for sure look out for these.
